Wimbledon 2009, or Aiseiman!

Cheering for Andy Murray? Well, you are now. Check out the Guardian's live blog, complete with match graphic disguised as a stick-figure doodle.

My favourite bit from the match:

First set: Murray 3-2 Kendrick* Now it's Kendrick's turn to serve out a game to love. The highlight of this one was the wag in the crowd who replied to a cacophany of cockney CAAHHMM ORN ANDAYYYYs with a cheery upper-class "Come on Tim". Ah the great British humour. Those feelings of national inadequacy are kicking in again.

Heh, that's the reason I enjoy cheering on England at the World Cup. And the explanation for why I keep saying 'Come on Tim!' whilst reading Robin.

Are you nerdcore?

Oh, I'm definitely the nerdy type. I know a lot about many things, have certain fixations on subjects most ignored by ordinary people, and read textbooks for fun. And I hang out with plenty of geeks and nerds. But I am just blown away by the sheer nerdiness exhibited by John Hodgman (aka PC) in his speech addressing President Obama at the 2009 Radio and TV Correspondents Dinner:

It is just too cute from beginning to end, and Hodgman did an excellent job. Don't miss 'the most American of greetings' at the end!
