Give kitty a bed
Mar. 8th, 2008 09:29 pmWow, I've just received 2 e-mails from PETA. Weird because a) I'm not the animal activist type, b) I can't remember if I ever gave them my e-mail address, and c) I don't like PETA. The closest I've gotten to this sort of activism was being rejected for a membership in Greenpeace in junior high.
This post is going to be extremely short as I haven't doing anything these past two days, other than wait for a phone call. Instead of talking about my workout or the sort of high-carb dish I've eaten, I'm going to point you in the direction of Lindy Loo. Usually she blogs about vegan dishes but this most recent post is about something everyone can do for stray cats.
Specifically, a cat-shelter for under $20. All it takes are styrofoam sheets, a large plastic container, duct tape, and an emergency blanket. Once you've the shelter built, place it someplace low-key, and occasionally refill with some warm bedding made of hay or shredded newspapers. I think it's a genius idea, and one that's a great afternoon project to do with the kids or with friends. There's hardly any stray cats in my neighbourhood but who knows? I'm going to give it a go.
