stinglikeabee: classic denny colt (working)
I'm reading through the legalese for the propositions on the November ballot and I'm about to curl up into a ball, and die. It's that mind-numbing. And if a person like me who's used to reading company financial reports can find problems reading through the propositions, what's the hope for the average voter?

Take Prop 1A, the act to build a bullet train from San Diego to San Francisco. Sounds incredibly awesome, especially for nerds like myself who live in LA and can avoid flights to attend Wondercon and Comicon (laugh at me, go on). Even Craig Ferguson supported the prop on his Late Show, noting the improbable incentive of San Francisco, which is talking of legalising prostitution. Hah, that's one plus. But the full text concerns itself with the issue of raising bonds to pay for this act without specifying a clear timeline. How long will it take after the state gets the money? A year, two years, maybe even ten years after the passing of the proposition? *shakes head*

Off-topic: You have GOT to watch this adorably awkward Biden interview by a fifth grader who declares at thend, 'Senator Biden is now my homeboy'.
