New Years 2009 -- 80s Style

For this New Year's, I'm heading to a club with a '80s theme. How fun, I thought, would it be to dress up for the occasion? Employing as much enthusiasm as I should for writing the oft-delayed novel or the DC fics, I have gathered the following must-haves for the party:

-- the glow-in-the-dark bracelet

-- the electric pink tights

-- the fake pearls and a cross-used-as-a-fashion-statement

-- the ruffled, tiered mini skirt

-- the ankle boots

-- the orange-red lipstick

-- the off-the-shoulder blouse

-- the vintage fugly leather jacket with metal studs

I also have mousse and hairspray, but I took one look at the pictures of '80s hair and whimpered. The last time I had my hair crimped, I smelled burning hair. Scrunchies, I decided, to rock that awesome juvenile look: the side ponytail.

I'm enjoying this way too much :D

ETA: The off-the-shoulder blouse tore when I put it on. Damn you, Anchor Blue! Also, the tights are sheer and not blindingly 80s enough.
