For serious
Sep. 16th, 2007 08:40 pmDamn my ambitious ways. Not content with the completion of ordinary tasks I saved for the weekend, I also wanted to post a movie review and writeup the Wired Nextfest event. Gah, but I am so, so, so knackered. Plus I haven't done half of what I set out to do. Oh crap, I forgot to refill my prescription. See what I mean?
Right now I'm working on a greeting card for Sal. It's her birthday tomorrow (shh!) and I thought I'd used my limited gimp skillz for something pleasant. Things have not gone well and all I've managed is an unashamed copy+paste of a comic page with some words thrown in. The good news is that she's getting something about a million times better (it's a scientifically-proven fact, yo) for her present. Honest, I'm not such a bad friend after all.
Till I can get my arse in gear, here's a little something from the Nextfest:

This is the 'new' Spidey suit according to a company called D30. The suit is made of a flexible foam fabric that hardens on impact, which is pretty darned handy for those other than superheroes who need protective gear. In a demonstration, a malleable (and orange) test piece was molded much like silly putty and then whacked with a wooden mallet. Hardly made a dent. Unfortunately, that costume is spit-ugly. Anyone forVenom-black classic spidey-red? Toldja I was tired.
