Sticky: San Diego Comic Con 2008 Playlist
Jun. 1st, 2007 10:40 pmExactly what it says in the title! I'm looking for suggestions for the playlist, be it roadtrip songs or superhero songs, or anything ya think might be fun to play for the trip.
The list is divided into 4 for now: the rock'n roll (The Clash etc), the beat (Kylie etc), the jazz (Ella etc), and the superhero songs. Unfortunately the list is lopsided in that I have wayyyy too many The Clash and Kylie songs in, and it's going to bore poor Sal to death. So please kind person, could you help me find something that will break up the monotony?
Examples of what I have so far:
#1 Rock'n Roll
A bunch of Clash songs
Ever Fallen In Love, The Buzzcocks
Gravity's Rainbow, The Klaxons
The Sweat Descends, Les Savy Fav
She's So Cold, Rolling Stones
Latchmere, The Maccabees
#2 The Beat (more under this category than the other three)
Plenty of Kylie remixes (including the killer Boombox LA Riots Mix - hey, it ain't a playlist by moi if big Kylie ain't in it)
Amylase, Cajun Dance Party
Those Dancing Days, Those Dancing Days
A Cause Des Garcons, Yelle
Loads of Hadouken! remixes and singles
Paper Planes, MIA
One More Time, Daft Punk
Ready For The Floor, Hot Chip
#3 The Jazz
Blue Skies, Night and Day, and many others by Ella Fitzgerald
Straighten Up and Fly Right, The Andrews Sisters
Jambalaya, Harry Connick Jr
I'm Ready, Fats Domino
I've Got My Love To Keep Me Warm, Ella & Louis
#4 Superhero songs
Iron Man, Black Sabbath
Plastic Man, The Kinks
Dating Batman, Cars Can Be Blue
Don't Fence Me In, Ella Fitzgerald (I swear this is a Wildcat song)
Evil Has Never Loved You, Union of Knives (like something Jeph Loeb would write hee)
Magick, The Klaxons (not specifically about a superhero and sounds more Harry Potter, but eh)
Green Lantern, Blue Harvest
Petootie Pie, Ella & Louis (stretching it a bit, but I claim it's about Superman, or a Superman)
Big Guy & Rusty Intro (not at all affiliated with Frank Miller, yeh!)

Date: 2008-06-02 07:02 pm (UTC)Me and Sal are leaving for SDCC on Wednesday afternoon, as we're staying the entire four days. If you won't be able to make it and carpool on Wed, we should definitely hang out on the weekend -- I'm going to make BBQ ribs and frozen margaritas at our hotel and plus... there's a (tiny) hot tub there too XD
