Wow, I haven't done one of these for a long time. Why did I ever stop? *eyes stack of comics on floor* Riiiight.

Here's a list of things percolating on thar interwebs recently:

After the ridiculous insanity of calling Obamas' fist-bump as a terrorist gesture, Fox News then calls Michelle 'baby mama' (via The Associated Press)

And how cute is this Reuters picture of Michelle and Barack? OTP, baby!

In other election news, Ron Paul has formally bowed out of the race for the Republican nomination (via Reuters)

Two Marines are disciplined for animal cruelty (via The Telegraph); says Mitch Ruth, "As unfortunate as this incident is, I still find it troublesome that there was far more outcry for this puppy than the fact that this marine was sent to war in another country."

Canada will apologise to its aboriginal populations for forcibly removing generations of native children into residential schools in the name of assimilation; many have allege abuse during their time at these schools (via LA Times)

It's still not safe to eat tomatoes -- the outbreak has spread to 23 states (via Marketwatch)

According to the UN, 3.5 to 5 million Burmese people were affected by Cyclone Nargis; however, 1 million are survivors have yet to be reached (via Human Rights Tribune)

A first hand account of the devastation covered by an LA Times reporter. It's so frustrating with all the hard work by the diplomats to reassure the junta allowing more aid workers to come in is not a covert attempt to overthrow the regime, there are still those waiting vainly for help. ASEAN claimed they've been allowed 'unfettered access' to bring in a taskforce for the relief effort in late May (The Guardian), and with the recent news it's clearly a case of too little, too late.

Aw yeah, roundups! I'm a news junkie -- I check the news from the moment I wake to right before I go to bed. *sigh* This sounds quite sad.
