I'm trying to shake off the buzz from drinking at the pub and cheering on the Obama informercial. In between discussing Obama's chances of assassination :( and McCain's senility, the bar came together to agree the Democratic candidate will be the next President. Not like it's a surprise -- we expats are totally biased anyway. Among those who are actually eligible to vote, Obama still came up on top. 'He just looks like a president,' said the bartender. I couldn't agree more.
My co-workers, when not listening to NPR or reading election news on Google, are IM-ing each other political articles. One is actually trying to catch up on the Presidential Debates on youtube, even after her earphones snapped in two (I lent her mine). The editor and I exchange Obama and Biden macros over IM. The taxes-are-socialism supervisor who hates speaking about politics took the time to call the boss over, and laugh like a maniac at one of McCain's gaffes. When Californian Republicans don't bother to support their candidate and will vote for the opponent, you know things are bad.
All this is my way of distracting readers from the fact I hadn't updated in a while. Blame
ontd_political for making me fall for Joey B (nom nom nom) and show off Obama/Babies pictures to everyone who has the misfortune to mention the elections. So... did everyone have a good weekend?

Date: 2008-10-31 02:41 pm (UTC):( I am so convinced this will happen if he gets elected. So very, very convinced. It just really makes me sad to know that our country is still that...awful.
*tries to wave hope flag anyway.*

Date: 2008-11-01 05:58 am (UTC)What gets me a little uplifted is the thought of Obama as a Blue Lantern. And much what like Saint Walker did for Hal Jordan, Obama will empower ordinary citizens to move beyond narrow-mindedness and petty partisanship squabbles. Or something. I DO KNOW if DC ever sells the different coloured Lantern rings, I will mail a blue one to Obama (the sapphire ones are miiiiiine!)
