Mum: Blah blah blah blah feeding the rabbit carrots blah--

Me: What rabbit?

Mum: There's a rabbit.

Me: I heard you; what rabbit?

Mum: Oh, the one I was feeding today.

Me: (struggling to contain anger) What. Rabbit.

Mum: There's one living in the backyard. I gave it carrots and it ate them like this. (Bunny imitation)

Me: Why is there a rabbit in our backyard?

Mum: I think someone dumped it there.

Me: What?

Mum: I think I'm going to sell it to a pet shop.

Me: What? Why would someone throw a rabbit over the fence in the first place? Wait, why do you want to sell it?

Mum: Someone probably didn't want it anymore. What can we do about it, huh?

Me: (half-joking) Eat it?

Mum: No meat. Maybe I'll buy more carrots.

LOL!!

We have bunnies in our backyard most of the summer. Obviously not ours, but they crawl under the fence and eat plants and things. *giggles* They make me smile. :D

Aw, I hope the bunny's wild and not abandoned. It's kinda hard to think so when the area we live in hardly has any natural wildlife though :(

You might be surprised... I've seen a bunny once (wild one) in downtown Ottawa, near the parliament building, where there's nothing but concrete and buildings and barely a patch of grass. There is grass and some manner of wildlife, further away, but how the little dude got on this little bit of a green square, right where we saw it, is definitely beyond my comprehension.
